It worked, it got me up and down stairs a little and even brought on a few kids from the pool. The top had little padding to allow for my hands, and as with other products, it is very thick and my family prefers to use them for things of size 2.5" wide. I also did not use a mesh in order to keep the look clean! If you want an idea of what size we actually have we have this design. It comes out nice and soft.
